Happy New Year to everyone. Hope you have a wonderful 2012 year!

The first OKSCAUG User Group meeting of 2012 will be held on Wednesday, February 15, from 8:30 am until 11:30 am at the Edmond Fire Training Center in Edmond, OK. The theme of the meeting will be Public Safety and GIS.

The 12th Annual ILMF (International LiDAR Mapping Forum) was held in Denver, CO. Monday January 23 through Wednesday January 25th. The International LiDAR Mapping Forum (ILMF) is the premier event for the LiDAR industry attracting professionals from all over the world. Expectations were for approximately 600 plus delegates from 30 countries to be in attendance. The Denver venue alternates with New Orleans as the home of the ILMF (http://www.lidarmap.org). The latest in the rapidly growing industry of LiDAR technology, its’ applications, and associated issues and their impacts are well represented at ILMF. One of many items of note was a presentation in the Basics to LIDAR Workshop Series entitled ArcGIS 10.1 by Peter Becker & Clayton Crawford (Esri) that provided an overview of significant new capabilities in ArcGIS 10.1 (Beta) for handling large collections of LiDAR data including the management, modification, and access to a wide range of applications. The ILMF is a great conference to attend if you want to stay on top of the latest technology, issues, applications, etc. involving LiDAR data.
