The NEEA (National Enhanced Elevation Assessment) webpage with its associated fact sheets are now live at http://nationalmap.gov/3DEP/neea.html
The National Enhanced Elevation Assessment was conducted to (1) document national-level requirements for improved elevation data, (2) estimate the benefits and costs of meeting those requirements, and (3) evaluate multiple national-level program-implementation scenarios. While at the site check out the NEEA Final Report; it's well written and contain lots of great information!
Also, you may not have heard of 3DEP yet. Well the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) initiative is in response to a growing need for high-quality topographic data and a wide range of other three-dimensional representations of the Nation’s natural and constructed features. Read all about it at the link above!
