Recruiting in the San Antonio Area

For employers recruiting college students in the San Antonio area, are you familiar with the San Antonio Colleges and Universities Career Centers Association? Registering at http://www.sacucca.org will allow employers to post job announcements from a single location to career centers at 14 colleges and universities in the San Antonio/San Marcos/Seguin area. Better still, it’s free! A list of member institions is available at http://www.sacucca.org/About/Member_Institutions.aspx.

2010 Scholarship Information

At the 2009 Regional Conference, SCAUG and several partners were able to offer four $1,000 scholarships to regional college students focusing their studies in GIS. Taylor Wilson of Stephen F. Austin State University, Justin Curry of East Central University, and Susan Street and Sara Eason, both from Texas State University, were our deserving recipients for the 2009-2010 academic year.

We’d like to announce an expansion of the program for 2010-2011. We’re now going to offer three $1,500 awards. Two will be reserved for undergraduates. Graduate students may apply for the third award to be used either as a tuition scholarship or as a research grant. Look for the applications to be made available sometime after the first of the year.
