What: SMITH COUNTY GIS ASSOCIATION
Smith County GIS Association is designed to assemble Citizens, Business Professionals, and Educational Facilities together to promote Geographic Information Systems and Technology in Smith County; while sharing GIS knowledge, contributing resources, encouraging dialog, enabling projects, hosting events, supporting community outreach, strengthening professional advancement, and advocating educational growth.
Who: Anyone who Works with or Interested in the GIS / Geography Related Field
Currently, there are several organizations already eager to join this association, such as; Smith County Appraisal District, The City of Tyler, Smith County 911 Communications District, Capco Engineering Inc., East Texas Medical Center, and Smith County. Other industries could include: GIS Professionals, Surveying, Construction and Development, Engineering, Public Works, Government Offices, Private Business, Real Estate, Oil & Gas, Educational Facilities, Teachers, Students, Natural Resources, Economic Development, Mapping, Public Safety, Transportation, Utilities, Communication, Health & Human Services, Forestry, or any other field relating to GIS or Geography.
When: Inaugural Meeting will be scheduled soon
I will be emailing the details of the, soon to come, "Kick-Off Meeting" with plenty of advance notice to allow ample scheduling time.
